World's largest plane lands in Los Angeles before departing for Australia

World's largest plane lands in Los Angeles before departing for Australia - Thursday, 10/23/2008

United States. The plane larger and more expensive in the world, with private suites with prices of 27 thousand 655 U.S. dollars in ticket round the country from north to Australia, landed this week in the Los Angeles International Airport.

The A-380, the airline Qantas, with capacity for 800 passengers, the largest aircraft in the world, landed at the airport Angelino for its first commercial flight to Australia scheduled for this week, said spokesmen for the airline Notimex

A second A-380 aircraft will be delivered to Qantas in November and by that time the airline will operate five flights with this type of aircraft per week between Los Angeles and Australia (two to three to Melbourne and Sydney).

The Los Angeles International Airport, one of the most active in the United States, plans to have 12 flights daily A-380 by the year 2012, which would be more than any other airport in the country.

The aircraft, which weighs 398 tonnes and can accommodate 800 passengers in economy class or first class 555, was received in a ceremony led by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and actor and pilot Goodwill ambassador of Qantas, John Travolta.
